Description
Ngatira Tennis club is truly a New Zealand Tennis Icon. The club was created in 1922 and has resided at its current location since 1929. In 2005, new court lights were installed and in 2015 they were upgraded to the best available. The clubhouse was completely renovated in 2009 including the completion of a parking area. The club has 4 artificial grass courts. The Lewis brothers, Chris, Mark and David, were all members as were their parents Jim and Marcia. We cater to both seniors and juniors of all skill levels with our interclub programs, coaching programs, social tennis and club champs. New members and visitors are always welcome. We also have YOGA lessons in the clubhouse on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and host the Pascoe Cup Business House Tennis Tournament in February-March each year. The club also acts as the home court for St Peter's College tennis teams. For juniors (5-17 years old) please be sure to check out our Tiger Tennis coaching programs run by Joe O'Sullivan, our club tennis coach. There are programs in school terms 1 3 and 4 as well as the school holidays.
