Sailing from Moncks Bay since 1891, Christchurch Yacht Club is one of the oldest clubs in the country. Members past and present provide a roll-call of world-class yachties including New Zealands first sailing Olympic Gold Medallists Peter Mander and Jack Cropp in 1956 and Leslie Egnot. With its distinctive historic clubhouse past Redcliffs on the road to Sumner, CYC has access to the water at all states of the tide and enjoys sailing areas both on the Estuary and over the bar into Sumner Bay....
