Founded in 1982, the Papakura Museum has displayed many artefacts, documents, and photographs of local historic interest (Papakura, Drury, and surrounding districts) to visitors for many years, and will continue to do so in years to come. Waiuku Museum was established almost 50 years ago in the old Waiuku Fire Station. Over the years the collection has been maintained by volunteers, and this is still the case. We encourage an interest in the history of the Otahuhu area and preserve items and photographs of historical importance. Our rooms contain a collection of household items, memorabilia, photos and archives relating to the history of the Otahuhu area and how its people used to live. The rooms are open 10am-12pm every Wednesday, from February to November or by appointment. Read more
