We encourage an interest in the history of the Otahuhu area and preserve items and photographs of historical importance. Our rooms contain a collection of household items, memorabilia, photos and archives relating to the history of the Otahuhu area and how its people used to live. Waiuku Museum was established almost 50 years ago in the old Waiuku Fire Station. Over the years the collection has been maintained by volunteers, and this is still the case. The purpose of the Museum is to preserve the history of Helensville and Lower Kaipara. We have four buildings which house collections of items from 1862 onwards set in cottage gardens with a small hut in a bush area.
